Dumpster Diving and The Tango Recycler Just look around. Tango is burdgeoning in popularity and Tangueros are seemingly popping out of the woodwork. Is it no surprise that the number of Tango instructors is also on the increase?
Inevitably, established schools of tango are finding themselves in"competition mode" and a struggle to maintain their status. Caught in the middle of all this, torn between loyalty to the Maestro and a fear that his or her old teacher may be out of date, is the Tanguero, the person who simply wants to Tango. To further complicate life, there is old tango, new tango, electronic tango, all danced in a variety of styles. I really appreciated the comment of Migtuel Di Genova of "Otros Aires" when he expressed appreciation for an environment where these distinctions meld into one uncomplicated pot called "Tango" .
